Rustic Chalkboards — A Holiday Craft Night

Our Second Annual Ladies' Holiday Craft Night to benefit the Blankner Foundation was a huge success! Thanks to Sarah and Kathy for hosting such a fun event. We noshed yummy goodies and sipped wine while decorating rustic chalkboards. I thought they would be perfect gifts for the holidays. Funny thing though, most of the ladies wanted to keep them for themselves! Click here for more pics from our creative night!

Our Family Travels Creative Workshop

In this creative workshop twelve ladies spent the evening reminiscing about their travels over the years. And while they chatted we all created colorful, one-of-a-kind U.S. Maps to track our journeys. It was  a huge success!

Playhouses - A Mixed Media Creations Workshop

These creative playhouses were so fun to make last week at our Mixed Media Creations Summer Workshop! We gave the kids pieces of wood (2x4's cut at varying lengths) and let them create their own sweet houses complete with a clothesline and a puppy. We made the little people too! They loved it!

Recycled Robots - A Summer Workshop for Kids

It was a packed house, errrr... Gallery... at City Arts Factory in Downtown Orlando last week for our "Recycled Robots" Workshop! The kids got to make their very own robots out of all kinds of junk! Every single one was completely unique and when they were finished everyone got to stand up and introduce their droids and tell us all about their super powers. Imaginations were hard at work creating these recycled masterpieces!

A Gift for "A Gift For Teaching"

I stopped by A Gift for Teaching last Friday to give them a check for the proceeds from our Earth Day Community Bottle Cap Art Project and they were thrilled! This was such a fun project to do with the kids in our community. It's amazing how many bottle caps we go through in just a few months! We collected more than 10,000 bottle caps for this project and created 35 bottle cap art masterpieces with kids from all over Orlando. The pieces were sold at the Central Florida Earth Day Festival and the proceeds were given to A Gift for Teaching.

The mission of A Gift for Teaching is to improve public education by transferring community surplus
materials and resources free to teachers for their students in need. With Free Stores in Orange, Seminole
and Osceola counties, A Gift for Teaching is able to get free school supplies into the hands of our
community's highest-need schools and classrooms providing necessary tools to students who
otherwise would have none while making sure teachers don't have to spend their own money.

Thanks to everyone who donated their time, talent, supplies, and bottle caps. Together we made a difference in our community!
