I stopped by A Gift for Teaching last Friday to give them a check for the proceeds from our Earth Day Community Bottle Cap Art Project and they were thrilled! This was such a fun project to do with the kids in our community. It's amazing how many bottle caps we go through in just a few months! We collected more than 10,000 bottle caps for this project and created 35 bottle cap art masterpieces with kids from all over Orlando. The pieces were sold at the Central Florida Earth Day Festival and the proceeds were given to A Gift for Teaching.
The mission of A Gift for Teaching is to improve public education by transferring community surplus
materials and resources free to teachers for their students in need. With Free Stores in Orange, Seminole
and Osceola counties, A Gift for Teaching is able to get free school supplies into the hands of our
community's highest-need schools and classrooms providing necessary tools to students who
otherwise would have none while making sure teachers don't have to spend their own money.
Thanks to everyone who donated their time, talent, supplies, and bottle caps. Together we made a difference in our community!

A Bottle Cap Art Workshop at "A Gift For Teaching"
Our final Bottle Cap Art Workshop was held at "A Gift For Teaching" last Saturday. What a wonderful facility they have. Teachers were shopping in the store that was stocked with all kinds of donated school supplies for students and helpful class materials for teachers. We also enjoyed listening to the the people from "A Gift For Music" practice while we created our bottle cap art. It was a great day for creating!

We had more than 30 pieces on display with proceeds benefiting "A Gift For Teaching". Young and old alike enjoyed taking and posing for pictures in our garden.

This Week's Bottle Cap Art Workshop— Very Productive!
We were VERY productive in this week's Bottle Cap Art Workshop! Lots of Moms came to help out and they brought drills! Woohoo! A thank you goes out to all the Moms and kids for putting some power behind all that drilling! Can't wait to display these at the Earth Day Celebration at Lake Eola. Hope everyone will come out and see the cool recycled works of art! And buy, buy, buy because all the money is going to a good cause.
